Auf nach Indien

Im März 2009 wollen wir wieder einmal in eine andere Kultur eintauchen, nichts wie weg aus dem kalten Bayern!

Diesmal mit dem Rucksack ohne Auto…wie ungewohnt für uns! Erstaunlich easy geht’s zur Sache, packen ist schnell passiert, wir brauchen ja nichts…ein paar Klamotten, Bücher, Medibox…die normalerweise wochenlange Vorbereitungsphase fällt quasi ganz weg. Für unsere erste Indienreise haben wir uns Kerala ausgesucht, Indien für Anfänger! In diesem Landesteil soll es nicht ganz so arm und dreckig sein, hat man uns erzählt…

Wir fliegen über Dubai nach Kochin, und werden mit feuchter, schwüler Luft und Sonnenschein begrüßt.(Luftfeuchtigkeitskeule!)

Mit dem Pre -Paid Taxi geht’s in Richtung Fort Kochin. Wir brausen laut hupend durch das Strassengetümmel, vorbei an Motorrädern und LKWs die Elefanten „geladen“ haben. Wir sind in Indien…

Für das pikante, gut gewürzte Essen ist Kerala ebenso bekannt. Köstliche Gerichte mit Fisch und Reis, frischem Gemüse und dazu Chaitee verwöhnen unseren Gaumen. Zur Vorsorge trinken wir vor und nach jeder Mahlzeit etwas „Käferlwasser“. Wir haben alle Speisen sehr gut vertragen…

Inder scheinen Frühaufsteher zu sein, um deutlich vor 5 Uhr geht im Nachbarzimmer der Fernseher an, da die Wände dünn und hellhörig sind und diverse Löcher haben steht der Fernseher quasi direkt neben unserem Bett. Draußen knattern Motoren, scheppern Rolläden, Türen. Die Stadt erwacht.

Wir frühstücken im Indien Coffe House, eine Institution und in fast jeder Stadt zu finden…

Danach wird geshoppt, wunderschöne Saristoffe, Tücher, Räucherstäbchen, bunte Blumengirlanden…und und und…wie im Paradies!

Varkala ist ein nettes Örtchen um ein paar Tage länger zu verweilen. Die alten und jungen Hippiegenerationen treffen sich hier um sich etwas vom Rucksackleben zu erholen. Auch wir entspannen ein paar Tage und erleben die originale Ayurvedamassage inkl. Stempelmassage mit heißem Kräutersud. Um auch mal Zug gefahren zu sein treten wir die Rückreise von unserem südlichsten Punkt eben mit diesem Verkehrsmittel an. Wir buchen die Sleeper Class. Drinnen laufen die Ventilatoren hintern den vergitterten Fenstern auf Hochtouren, es wird täglich heisser. Es ist stickig und etwas düster, es erinnert irgendwie an ein Gefängnis. Wir suchen uns 2 Plätze und beobachten die anderen Fahrgäste die mit etlichen Fliegenden Händlern in die Abteile strömen. Es werden uns Cashew Nuts, Coffee, Chai und diverse andere Leckereien angeboten. Leider werden die leeren Becher und Aluschalen nach dem Verzehr einfach aus dem Fenster geworfen, in die „Vorgärten“ der Bahngleisanwohner.
